Mariwell Helps You Get to Know Your Strain: OG Kush CBD

OG Kush is arguably one of the biggest names in cannabis known for its top quality and embedment in pop culture; it reaches the hands of cannabis lovers across the globe. Non-psychoactive CBD has also taken a large role in the industry becoming increasingly respected for its therapeutic potential as it presents impressive medicinal qualities through a wide range of health benefits. OG Kush CBD is bred by crossing a pure genetic CBD strain and the parent OG Kush. A sativa-dominant strain known for its 1:1 THC:CBD ratio, OG Kush CBD has the potential to reduce anxiety and muscle tension with moderate cannabinoid levels (10%) that deliver a long-lasting, mostly cerebral high. With a flowering time of 55-60 days, an indoor yield of 550g/m² and an outdoor yield of up to 1100g/plant, its aroma includes lemon, pine, citrus, sweet and wood, its genetics are 40% Indica and 60% Sativa and its parents are OG Kush x CBD.

The parent OG Kush is known for its original heritage of Southwestern Ontario producing vast amount of commercial cannabis, maintaining

quality even in harsh conditions. Crossing the OG Kush side of the strain with a select CBD strain that has properties of pest and mold resistance stabilizes the OG Kush, as pest and mold build-up can be an issue late in harvest for the original OG Kush strain. The crossing of these two strains produces a balanced blend of THC and CBD lessening the chances of pest or disease issues. 1:1 cannabis strains are considered to be one of the most medicinally beneficial strains for the population with a mild high and the potential of pain relief. Mariwell’s 2021 OG Kush Certificate of Analysis initial results when cut from A&L labs are: 14.04% CBD and 10.50 % THC. A final and complete Certificate of Analysis is conducted once more before packaging.

Terpenes are a vital part of cannabis medicine and the compound that gives cannabis its distinctive odour. Never tried cannabis? You have still consumed terpenes in fruits and spices and even experienced them in perfumes. If you take a walk through any health food store smelling the essential oil aisle, you will be able to experience a wide variety of different terpenes. Typical terpenes of OG Kush include limonene and terpinolene. Limonene contains an aroma of orange, lemon and citrus. Limonene is found in fruit rinds, rosemary, and peppermint. When a strain is high in limonene, it produces a lift in mood and relieves stress and it can also aid in acid reflux and heartburn. Properties you will see include anti-inflammatory properties. Terpinolene contains an aroma of citrus, apple blossom and lime blossom found in orange trees and essential oils of orange. They are also found in lilacs, nutmeg and cumin with properties that include anti-fungal and antibacterial properties.
